Child Development Professionals’ Day


The “Child Development Professionals’ Day” events, organized for the fourth time this year by the Department of Child Development at Hitit University Faculty of Health Sciences, began with the panel “Growing Together: Child Development from Family to Society.” The event was held at the MYO Ethem Erkoç Conference Hall of the university with broad participation.

The panel opened with a speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Babaroğlu, Head of the Department of Child Development. Other panelists included Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ela Hiçyorulmaz, Çorum Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Sahit Aydın, Deputy Mayor of Çorum Zübeyir Tuncel, and Vice Rector of Hitit University Prof. Dr. Nurcan Baykam. In their speeches, participants emphasized the importance of the family in both child development and the structure of society.

Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Işık from the Department of Child Development, the panel included her presentation “Spending Quality Time with Children,” contributing scientifically to the event. Other presentations included Psychologist Elif Akdağ on “The Effect of Parental Attitudes on Children’s Psychological Resilience,” Research Assistant Büşra Kurtoğlu Karataş on “Mothering and Father Involvement,” and Psychologist Semanur Sarıca on “The Ministry of Family and Social Services’ Activities in 2025,” each examining child development from different perspectives.

The panel, which highlighted the multidimensional nature of child development from family to society, attracted significant interest from students. At the end of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to participants and contributors.
